The Hissong Group and the Petit Le Mans!
Friday, September 30 - Sunday, October 2, 2011
Hissong employees joined staff from the Austin Hatcher Foundation at the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta to assist in hosting pediatric cancer patients and their families to a carefree day at the track. Families attending last year participated in the flag ceremony preceding the race, were treated to rides around the track, a chance to build and race their own pinewood derby cars, got a chance to see the race cars up close in the paddock and even met several of the drivers. It was an exciting day for those families who were able to join us as well as a rewarding day for those of us who were able to volunteer at this event.
AHF also hosted a Racer’s Pro-Am Golf Tournament at the Chateau Elan in Brazelton, GA on Sunday, October 2, 2011 following the race weekend to help raise money for children with pediatric cancer. This event was open to the public and provided a way for fans to play golf with several of their favorite race car drivers from across the world. The Austin Hatcher Foundation is the official charity of several race series including the American Le Mans Series. As part of the Foundation’s 2011 Campaign, the American Le Mans Series worked side by side with the Austin Hatcher Foundation by providing families with a much-needed escape from the everyday realities of pediatric cancer through a treatment concept known as diversionary therapy.

Austin Hatcher Foundation
